A few MDX items

Here is a review sent to us by reader, Jon.

Will make it quick. Test drove a new 2001 Acura MDX at my local dealership
this evening. They received 3 of them today, with 2 of them already being
sold. The 3rd one is staying at the dealership for test drives, etc. That one
being a dark maroon with tan interior. My first impression was that it is
bigger in person than what I thought. The interior is laid out perfectly and
I was very comfortable in it. I am 6'3, 300 pounds and I could easily be
comfortable with this car for a very long time. The shoulder room was
excellent, didn't feel as cramped as I do in the RX-300.
The car drove more like an SUV than the carlike ride in the Lexus RX-300.
This felt more responsive, and the braking was excellent. The steering felt
a little "spongy" but overall I was pleased. The visibility, as with all
Acura's, is excellent. The room for back passengers and storage is excellent
as well. Wish the rear windows went down all the way though.
Big dissapointment.....NO Xenon headlights! I thought for sure it would
have them but no go. The dealership wants $1600 OVER MSRP. Nice ride though,
will be a strong seller for Acura.

From Joe F.: The MDX is now on acura.com's website complete with build your own
section, photos, 360's, etc. The build your own section shows the
official accessories available for it and their respective prices. It
also lists the MSRP etc.

From "CaroVan": Acura, today at the Miami/South Florida International Auto Show, the first of five American Class A American auto shows (others are LA, Detroit, Chicago, New York City), has priced the MDX at $34,370. This was the vehicle's first commerical showing in production form. Here is the PR:

MIAMI, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Acura announced today that its all-new MDX
luxury SUV will be priced starting at $34,370 when it goes on sale today.
The fully featured "multi-dimensional" MDX is available with only two factory
options: a Touring Package incorporating additional luxury features priced at
$2,600, and the satellite-linked Acura Navigation system for $2,000.......
