Well, now that I've gotten my seat belt recall notice on my S2000, I can now mention that Barry W. sent me this notice from Japan that Honda was going to recall the seatbelts. He had sent this message to me on October 5th, but I couldn't post it until I actually got my notice. Thanks Barry W.!

Tokyo, Oct. 4 (Jiji Press)--Honda Motor Co. <7267> notified the Transport
Ministry Wednesday that it is recalling S2000 passenger cars for free repair
due to seat belt defects.
Honda is recalling 10,033 cars made between March last year and September
this year.

Here is what was on my official recall notice:

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has determined that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in 2000 model year S2000 automobiles because the seat belt may not be usable.

Under certain conditions, the seat belt retractor can deform and cause complete or frequent locking of the retractor. As a result, the seat belt cannot be pulled out of the retractor and, therefore, cannot be used.

Needless to say, don't drive your car unless you're able to put on your seat belt. :-) Has anyone actually had this problem? -Tuan
