Here are the Honda/Acura items in the December 2000 Car & Driver magazine.
- in a side piece on the new M3's 333-HP engine they state: "There are only two naturally aspirated engine for sale in the land that can top the 103-horsepower-per-liter performance of BMW's new six: an amazing 120-horsepower-per-liter four-cylinder Honda found in the S2000 roadster and the phenomenal 110-horsepower-per-liter V-8 of the Ferrari 360
Modena." Updated: Car & Driver forgot to mention
that the Integra Type-R engine produces 108.3 HP/liter.
- a big comparison test between $40,000 SUVs. The Acura MDX came out on top over the BMW X5 3.0i, Lexus RX300, Mitsubishi Montero Limited, Mercedes Benz ML320 and Inifinit QX4 (tie), and finally the Land Rover Discovery (listed 2nd place to 7th place.) They gave it a verdict of: "Just enough sport, plenty of utility; Honda integrity, Acura luxury."
- a short take article on the Acura 3.2CL Type S. They generally liked the car, but felt that they needed something more from it.
